Step 7 AA: Embracing Humility Through Prayer & Reflection

Step 7: Humility & Prayer

"Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings."

In Step 7, we move from readiness to action — but not through force. This is a step of humility. We ask, not demand. We trust, not control. Here, we begin to develop a prayerful relationship with our Higher Power, letting go of ego and pride as we invite real transformation.

🌿 What Is Humility in Recovery?

It’s not about shame. Humility is the quiet strength of knowing we don’t have to fix ourselves alone. It’s a posture of surrender that allows grace to do what self-will could not.

🧠 Reflection Questions

  • What does humility look like in my daily life?
  • Have I asked for help in the areas I struggle most?
  • What do I believe my Higher Power can remove or heal?

✍️ Journaling Prompt

Write a simple prayer asking your Higher Power to remove one shortcoming. Be honest. Be vulnerable. Be open to what change might feel like if you didn’t have to carry that burden anymore.
