The 1939 Blueprint tells us to "lend him a book," but in the high-speed, high-stress world of 2026, many newcomers are too desperate and too distracted to read it alone. They want a way out, but they "can't find the time" or haven't picked up a book in years. They are in the middle of a mechanical failure, and they need a mechanic now.
My Experience, Strength, and Hope has taught me that we don't wait for the next visit. We don't hope they read it on their own. We open the book, we sit down, and we get busy. Five minutes ago wasn't too soon to start the work of saving a life.
Meeting Them Where They Are At
When I sit with a prospect, I know exactly where they are at. I know the "Internal Noise" is so loud they can't focus on a paragraph, let alone a chapter. So, we follow the Clear-Cut Directions as they are written, but we do it together, right now.
The "Get Busy" Protocol:
- Identify the Malady: We don't talk about "feelings." We open to the Doctor’s Opinion and identify the Physical Allergy. We show them the mechanics of why they can't stop.
- The Page 44 Diagnostic: We don't wait for a second visit to ask the hard questions. We look at the book together: Can you quit entirely? Can you control the amount you drink?
- Industrial-Strength Action: If they are willing, we move directly into the "Design for Living." We don't suggest they "think about it"—we show them the 1939 Blueprint in action.
Attraction Over Promotion in the Modern Age
The newcomer doesn't need another lecture or a reading assignment. They need to see that the 1939 framework is a practical, working machine that can be applied the second they are ready. By "getting busy" immediately, we honor the Singleness of Purpose that has defined this program for nearly a century.
At Unity for Recovery™, we believe that "Working with Others" means being a source of information that is available the moment the prospect is ready to surrender. We don't wait. We get busy.
