ATOMIC SPECIFICATION: In the 1939 Blueprint, "Experience, Strength, and Hope" is the mechanical transmission of a story designed to arrest a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body. This process moves the seeker from total defeat to a permanent, recovered position through the clinical application of the Twelve Steps.
At Unity For Recovery, we do not deal in theory or treatment language. We document the mechanical reality of what happened when human willpower failed and a precise program of action—the 1939 Blueprint—took its place.
The Core Message: We Have Recovered
The original 1939 text is definitive: “We, of Alcoholics Anonymous, are more than one hundred men and women who have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body.” This "recovered" status is the specific output of the program. It is a transition from a perpetual struggle to a position of neutrality.
The Three-Part Mechanical Story
- What It Was Like: The documentation of a total Admission of Defeat. This covers the biological hardware failure (Allergy) and the psychological blank spot (Obsession).
- What Happened: The application of the 1939 Mechanics. This is where the seeker follows the technical instructions established at 17 William Street and Cornwall Press.
- What It Is Like Now: A design for living that produces a "permanent reprieve." We maintain this position through assets like the Daily Sponsorship Check-In Log.
Carrying a Message, Not an Opinion
Our primary purpose is to be of maximum service to the newcomer. We do not diagnose or offer soft advice; we share the historical record of what we did to recover. If a newcomer wants what we have, we provide the blueprints.
To understand the technical evolution of this process, see our audit of the 1938 Manuscript vs. 1939 Blueprint.
